Geodynamic and metallogenic processes in the Tianshan orogen and adjacent areas, Central Asia (co-sponsored by IGCP-592)
|
The Tianshan (Tien-shan) orogenic belt is located on the southwestern margin of the Central Asian Orogenic Belt (CAOB), one of the world’s largest Neoproterozoic to Phanerozoic accretionary orogenic belts and one of the most important sites of continental growth. This belt extends across several Central Asian countries, and many new results have been obtained in recent years on its evolution, the timing of orogenic events and metallogeny. This symposium aims to present new achievements and discuss geodynamic and metallogenic processes in the Tianshan and adjacent areas, and to compare these with those from other terranes in the CAOB. In this symposium, geoscientists are invited to present their latest research results and take the opportunity to strengthen collaboration and exchange experience. This will help to understand the geodynamic and metallogenic processes in the CAOB.
