Fluid and melt inclusion in Minerals | Fluid inclusions may preserve direct evidence for the presence and composition of ancient fluids that have long since left the sample. Melt inclusions may provide direct samples of the uncrystallized magma including its volatile contents. The fluid and melt inclusions in minerals represent the best source of information concerning the physical and chemical nature and origin of Geo-fluids. They have been widely used to study igneous£¬metamorphic and sedimentary petrology£¬metal and hydrocarbon deposit genesis and exploration etc. In the recent years, fluid inclusion research has been extensively applied to understand the role of fluids in the deep crust and crust-mantle interface. This session will provide an international forum for exchange of latest research results and ideas between geoscientists from academy, government and industry focusing on studies of fluid- and melt inclusions in minerals. | Pei Ni, Ronald Bakker and Fanus Viljoen |
