| Stratigraphic and morphologic signatures of continental shelves | With modern advances in sediment coring, bathymetric and seismic reflection techniques, the understanding of the stratigraphic and morphologic signatures of continental shelves has been much enhanced. The complex relationships between sea level variability, sediment supply and the dominant oceanographic setting are preserved within these signatures. This proposed session would focus on the global variability of continental shelf stratigraphy and geomorphology, the aim of which is to reconcile the overarching controls on the global evolution of continental shelves. We further propose that this session’s proceedings form part of a special issue of Geo-Marine Letters co-edited by Dr. Green, Prof. Cooper and Prof. Dr. Flemming. | Andrew Green |
