| Compositional and rheological layering in cratonal lithosphere | This multidisciplinary session aims at bringing together geophysisists, mantle petrologists, and geodynamic modellers for advancing our understanding on compositional and rheological heterogeneity of the cratonic lithospheric mantle. Such heterogeneity reflects processes of lithosphere formation and its later modification by an interaction with mantle flow and plate tectonics processes. An effect of mantle metasomatism on lithosphere modification, as well as the origin of the mid-lithosphere discontinuity are in a particular focus of the session. | Irina Artemieva |
