New theories and methods in resources exploration For the sustainable developments, new technologies of resources exploration become uppermost important. This session invites paper combining state-of-the art theories and technologies that can contribute to explore and assess both renewable and nonrenewable resources in terrestrial and submarine areas such as mineral resources, coal, natural gas, petroleum, shale gas and oil, methane hydrate, geothermal, groundwater, and aggregates. The technologies cover the fields of geology and mineralogy, geostatistics, geoinformatics, GIS, remote sensing, geophysics and geochemistry, resource economics, mining and petroleum engineering, and hydrology. The exploitation technologies with minimum environmental impact and geosequestration are included. Extraterrestrial resource exploration targeting asteroids and planets is one of the topics of this session for the future world. (Co-sponsored by ISME).
