Quantitative geoscience data analysis for mineral exploration targeting | This session aims to highlight the developments in the field of mineral potential modeling and quantitative geospatial data analysis in the past two and a half decades since the advent and proliferation of GIS technology in the late eighties. The range of themes to be covered include: critical reviews of existing spatial data analysis and modeling techniques, proposals of new models and algorithms, feature-pattern analyses, and quantitative resource assessments. A key focus will be on incorporating information on the third dimension in modeling. Application case studies, particularly from the African continent will be highlighted. | Arianne Ford and Alok Porwal |
